You want to change the hiring date of an Onboardee.
At this blog I would like to talk about the scenario where you have RCM and ONB implemented. This means that the “Star Date” is pulled from the Recruiting module.
If you try to change the “Start Date” from the “Onboarding Dashboard” you will notice that it’s not possible. This is an expected behavior. (red bow below).
Ok, how to change the hiring date then ?
The procedure also depends on the current stage of the onboardee in the process.”
Option 1: Immediately after ONB initiation
Cancel the existing onboarding process. Update the hire date in RCM and reinitiate the onboarding process for the candidate.
Result: you will not find the onboardee anymore in the “Onboarding Dashboard”.
Go to ONB, select the Job requisition > Select the applicant and select “Initiate Onboarding” like in the iscreenshot below.
If it doesn't work, and the "Start date" doesn't update. Try this workaround.
Option 2: How to update the candidates “start date” if candidate is in “New Hire Data Review” step
Answer: Go to the Onboarding Dashboard > Start New Hire Data Review > Change Start Date > Submit New Hire Data Review > Restart the Onboarding Process.
This will ensure that the backend tables are updated with the new start date.
Option 3: How to update the candidate’s “start date” if the candidate is in/after Manage Pending Hire
Answer: With the last release, the “Hiring manager” and “Onboarding participants” can now change the “hire’s manager” or “start date” before or during the Manage Pending Hires step, without having to restart the Onboarding process.
👉 Go to “Manage pending Hires”, select the onboardee and change the “hire date” directly at the form 🤩
PLEASE NOTE: If the new start date must be reflected in any completed task, the hiring manager must restart the Onboarding process for the new hire.
