HRIS Sync

What is the HRIS Sync?

(HRIS) Synchronization (or HRIS Sync for short) is the exchange of data between Employee Central (EC) and the SAP SuccessFactors HXM Platform, to allow consumption of EC data by other SuccessFactors modules.

In this blog, I’ll focus only on the synchronization between EC and the UDF.

Daily HRIS Sync

This job is scheduled ( Guide: Managing Scheduled Jobs ) to run once daily to pick up any future effective dated changes that become effectively active on the day the job runs on. For example, the job will run daily, if the days date is 04/04/2017, then the job will sync changes for users who had future dated changes to their current Employee Central record, that become effective on 04/04/2017.
Real-time sync integration by UI operation (on-the-fly)When data is changed at the People Profile

How is the HRIS Sync carried out?

You will observe user TECHNICAL_USER_EC_TO_CALL_CE_API_DBC5DC59 performing Compound Employee API requests in SFAPI API Audit Log.

You will be unable to find this user within the system & you wish to find out what what the purpose of these requests are & if they are expected.

Resolution

A new version of HRIS Sync was developed in B2111 which is using CE API.

This technical user (TECHNICAL_USER_EC_TO_CALL_CE_API_DBC5DC59) is used for the HRIS sync process in the EC instances for calling CE API

It is an internal technical user & will not be found within the user population of your SF system
